Keller and Keller Win Second Day of WI - UP
Team Challenge on Lake Winnebago
Chris Gasser - 6/6/2004
Oshkosh,WI - The Father and Son team of Brian and James Keller won
the second day of back-to-back World Walleye Association WI/UP Team
Challenge tournaments held on Lake Winnebago Sunday, June 6th.
On a second day with perfect fishing weather, Brian and James Keller
made adjustments to their strategy used the day before which got
them an 18th place finish to top the field on Sunday with an impressive
19.75 pound five fish limit.
Second place went to long time WWA WI/UP anglers, Dave Hopp and
Bob Cook, with a five fish, 18.86 pound basket.
Finishing third was the reigning WWA National Champions, Father
and Son team Bill and Matt Bobber with a weight of 18.26-pounds.
Big fish of the event was caught by the 2003 WI/UP Team of the Year
Ryan Zander and Scott Hittman which weighed 6.93-pounds.
As on Saturday, the tactics used to catch the winning weights were
hard to come by with other national tournaments coming in the following
weeks, but trolling the main lake and jigging weed beds were among
some of the information given out.
