FREMONT, WI- Fort Fremont Marine along with Patriot Power Boats will be hosting a Weekend of Walleye April 12th and 13th at Fort Fremont Marine on the Wolf River.

The weekend will start out on Saturday, April 12th with the Third Annual Fort Fremont Marine Walleye Classic. This is an alcohol free, family orientated tournament held under the Big Top tent set up on the Fort Fremont grounds. It is limited to 50 boats paying an entry fee of $50 for a chance to win a $1000 first place prize. Chris and Gina Gasser, the two-time MWC Husband and Wife Team of the Year will be the MC s of the event.

Denny Fox, the tournament director for the event, says the fishing has been excellent and getting better. The guys that have been coming into the store have been reporting some good catches of fish. Denny said, With the upcoming warm weather predicted, the water temperature should rise causing the fish that are in the river to turn on and fish that are staging to come up the river to start their annual spawning run and fishing should get even better.

The Weyauwega / Fremont Scout organization will be on hand with a chili feed to benefit their organization. Also present will be Patriot Power Boats factory reps to answer questions on their new line of multi species boats.

Then on Sunday, April 13th the World Walleye Association in conjunction with Patriot Power Boats and Fort Fremont Marine will host the opening tournament of the WI/UP Team Challenge Division. A limit of 100 teams will be competing in this event not only for prize money but also valuable points, which will qualify them for the National Championship. The National Championship is being held September 18th, 19th and 20th at a location TBA in Wisconsin. This year will be the first year the National Championship will be held in Wisconsin giving anglers in the WI/UP division added incentive to qualify for the Championship on their home waters. It has also been announced that the first place prize for the Championship will be $20,000!
