Cain and Strehlo Win WWA Leech Lake Two-Day
and MN Team of the Year

Walker, MN - Tim Cain and Dan Strehlo won the final event in the
World Walleye Association Minnesota Team Challenge held August 14th
and 15th on Leech Lake.
In convincing fashion they topped the field by more than fourteen
pounds not only giving them the win for the two-day event but also
giving them the honors of Minnesota Team Challenge Team Of The Year.
Cain and Strehlo were using Lindy Rigs with leeches in 25-40 ft
in Walker Bay. Cain and Strehlo caught 10.78-pounds on Saturday
and a whopping 23.74-pounds on Sunday for a total of 34.52-pounds.
Cain and Strehlo also caught the big fish each day of the tournament,
a 6.23-pounder on Saturday and a beautiful 7.95-pound monster on
Sunday.
Rick Runquist and Harv Lueck took second place honors with a total
weight of 19.83-pounds. This was the second year in a row that Runquist
and Lueck took second place at the two-day Leech Lake tournament.
Runquist and Lueck were also fishing in Walker Bay, jigging in 20-35
ft. of water with Northland Fireball jigs tipped with crawlers or
minnows.
Dan and Gary Barrett took third place with a weight of 13.41-pounds
for the two-day event.
Roger and Sue Hugill won the 2004 Minnesota Team Challenge Husband
and Wife Team Of The Year title and also placed second in the Team
Of The Year race.
