Fond Du Lac, WI - The first event in the World Walleye Association Michigan Team Challenge will be Sunday April 17th on the Detroit River at Metro Park in Detroit.

Tournament Director for the event will be the newest member of the World Walleye Association and the new Michigan Team Challenge Tournament Director, Troy Walwood.

"We are very happy to have Troy as our new Michigan Team Challenge Director," said Steve Poll, Executive Director of the WWA. "With Troy's experience as a tournament fisherman and experience on Michigan waters, the Michigan Team Challenge anglers couldn¹t have a more competent director."

Sign in and rules meeting will be held on Saturday, April 16th at the Lake Erie Metro Park Launch. Sign in will be from 6:00-7:00 P.M. with a mandatory rules meeting at 7:00 P.M.

Immediately following the meeting, there will be a free seminar on river jigging and hand lining.

Boundaries for the tournament will be the Detroit River waters only. This includes Canadian waters provided you have the proper licenses.

The Priority Date has been waived for this tournament and all the tournaments in the month of April but no registrations will be accepted after 10:00 P.M. Friday April 15th.
